Ultimately, these operations are dependent on the scale and progression of tooth decay and how it could factor into the long-term health of the tooth and whether it can be salvaged.

Last but not least, dental restoration also encompasses the use of dentures, removable replacements for missing teeth that are held onto the gum line with either metal attachments or a bonding material. These can be created in partial form for specific areas of the mouth or entire rows of teeth that may have been lost over time. With the many advances in dental restoration, dentists have dramatically reduced the pain and recovery time associated with these procedures to make them a viable tool in improving a patient’s long-term oral health plan and allow them to enjoy a normal life.
