Taking good care of your teeth can seem like a never-ending struggle when you're up against the world around you. For instance, if you're a regular drinker of beverages like coffee or tea, then you have to deal with the chance of stained teeth in shades of brown or yellow. Similarly, people who frequently smoke cigarettes or cigars must worry about stains along with more serious concerns like gum disease and oral cancer.

Chewing on ice cubes
When it's a hot summer day and you're trying to cool down, chewing on the ice cubes left in the bottom of your glass can be an enjoyable and tasty way to beat the heat. Even if it's not particularly warm outside, many people like munching on ice cubes after finishing a refreshing beverage anyway. But unfortunately, this behavior could be a significant contributor to loose or damaged teeth. Why is this? Well, for starters, your teeth were not designed to bite down on hard surfaces such as ice cubes. Additionally, the cold temperatures can weaken your teeth and lead to the development of tiny chips or cracks.
Biting your nails
As mentioned above, teeth are meant for biting through softer foods, not chomping down on hard surfaces. Because of this, frequently biting your nails can cause your bite to shift and your teeth to become loosened. And as if this wasn't bad enough, biting your nails can leave your fingers with a jagged, uneven look along with white spots on the nails.
